We have created a private (and monitored) Facebook group called Tq Social for gender diverse and trans people of qathet to connect online in a confidential space. https://www.facebook.com/groups/3001549260094216/ News: Improving gender designation process for people in B.C. https://news.gov.bc.ca/releases/2022HLTH0002-000056 As of January 10th, two-spirit, transgender, and gender-diverse people age 12+ in British Columbia are able to change gender designations on the BC Services Card, B.C. driver’s licence, BCID card and B.C. birth certificate without the confirmation of a physician or psychologist. Adults wanting to change their gender designations will be required to complete an Application for Change of Gender Designation, which includes a self-declaration. People under 19 will also need to provide proof of parent and/or guardian support. Reminder for our next Zoom Meet-Up (Tuesday, February 1st, 7-8:30PM) This space is for trans, non-binary, and gender diverse people of qathet - come and meet your local peer support group in a confidential and non-judgmental online space. You are welcome to drop in at any time and share ideas and stories. Join us however feels comfortable and safe for you - camera and audio off is welcome. This is a recurring event on the first Tuesday of every month. We welcome trans, non-binary, gender diverse and gender-questioning individuals. OTHER EVENTS Sunday, January 23rd, 7:00PM Queer Eye Watch Party Join us this Sunday for a Queer Eye watch party on zoom! Once everyone has joined the party Laurance will share his screen so that we can all watch "Angel Gets Her Wings" on his Netflix account. We will hang out and chat about the episode afterwards. As they begin to restore the old family tractor, they cautiously rebuild their relationship and come to understand the mechanics of the heart. We are hoping that we will be able to do in person events again starting in March! We are starting to plan an event for Transgender Day of Visibility (March 31st).
